Parish Council

John Drill, President                                                                                                                                                                      (608)242-8405

Usual Meeting Date: Third Wednesday, August through May, 7:00 p.m.

The Parish Council consists of the pastor, treasurer, and secretary of the parish corporation as ex officio members, plus 12 at-large lay representatives elected by the parish as a whole. Candidates should have previous experience in one or more parish activities.

A Council nominating committee nominates a slate of at least eight candidates from among all parishioners, 18 years or older, for election in February, at which time four Council members shall be elected for a period of three years.

The Council is an advisory committee to the Pastor. It deliberates and acts in matters pertaining to the spiritual, financial and educational affairs of the parish. It is the coordinating and unifying structure of the parish community. The members gather the thoughts and ideas of the community and discuss them until some general agreement is reached. They then implement the decisions for the parish community.

Open to young adults and older, the Council plays an active role in decorating the church for Christmas and Easter, and assists with the Appreciation Dinner and Parish Picnic.
