St. Peter's Parish is known in the Northside Community as one that can be counted on to assist those in need. The assistance provided is as follows:

RespiteCare Team

Don Gostomski   (608) 249-8250
Rectory
(608) 249-6651

The RespiteCare Team is a ministry of St. Peter's Parish volunteers. The volunteers are available to visit with a homebound loved one to allow the caregiver time to run errands, go to doctor's appointments, go to mass, or just take a break for a walk. The volunteers are screened, trained, and supported by Catholic Charities Aging Services.

The team meets regularly to check in with each other, and to ask for help if needed. All information is held in confidence.

Examples of the type of needs that have been served are Alzheimer's disease, ALS, hip replacement, and visiting with elderly family members. The assignment can be short term or long term, depending on the needs. Please call Bonnie Carlson, Ann Longua, or Fr. Roger Nilles for more information.

Hospital Visitation

Linda Dow
(608) 635-2737

Visitation to parishioners in the hospital is the charge of this committee. Members rotate visits so that each member visits about once each month. Members are provided an identification pin signifying they are St. Peter's Parish Hospital Visitors.

Funeral Luncheons

Anna Skaife
(608) 249-1957

When contacted by the family of the deceased, this group of dedicated volunteers will try to accommodate the family's request for a luncheon following the funeral service.

The food is prepared in our parish kitchen. Volunteers are needed to help set-up, prepare, serve the meal, and clean-up after the luncheon.

This ministry is offered to all families of our parish.
